I’ve been photographing the Jefferson Dancers in Portland for a number of years. It’s awe-inspiring to watch these talented young dancers practice, day after day, honing their craft, strengthening their bodies, and blowing away their audiences when they perform. I’ve really enjoyed being their photographer.
Lillian goes to Jefferson High School in Portland, and I’ve photographed her several times before as part of the Jefferson Dancers. So I was pretty excited when she asked me to be her senior portrait photographer. She said she wanted mostly dance photos, plus a few portraits. So that’s what we photographed! Finding a cool industrial area near our photography studio, Lillian and I and her mom set out to capture the grace and beauty of dance.
Senior Portraits are some of our favorite portraits to create. We work hard to capture the true nature of your senior year of school, when you’re discovering so much about who you are and what you love. It’s exciting to watch Lillian explore her talents as a dancer.
