Mark and Emily are gorgeous people….inside and out. I was thrilled when they told me the details of their wedding day. I knew it was going to be spectacular. (Plus, Mark is the brother of Carrie, whose wedding Fritz photographed several years ago here in Portland.)
They both chose to get ready for their day at The Nines in downtown Portland….and ok, I admit it, I’m smitten. The Nines is amazing! The light.. the furniture, the staff….sigh. We had glorious portrait opportunities even before we left the hotel room! (And one of these portraits placed in the ISPWP annual wedding photographer competition, winning an award in the most hotly contested category: The Bridal Portrait!)
The bride and groom chose to see each other before the ceremony, so we were able to make the most out of the beautiful Rhododendron Garden backdrop in SE Portland. They both looked simply brilliant dressed in shades of deep royal blue against the green foliage.
The ceremony was deeply felt by all. Barely a dry eye in the house as these two committed their lives to each other.
But then it was time to party! The reception took place at Departure atop the Nines and had a view over looking the entire city. A perfect night cap to the days events.
Every bit of mark and Emily’s wedding day was classic, stylish, simple and filled with love.
Blessings on your marriage Mark and Emily! Thank you for allowing me to capture the beauty of your day.
