“As you wish!”
We all know that famous line from the wonderfully quotable movie “Princess Bride”, and it seems like a fitting theme for a wedding. Nonetheless, Julianna and Aaron were the first bride and groom I’ve seen take up the cry for their own wedding, and with such lovely results. From the decorative centerpieces, created by Punch, to the placecards (directing people to their various tables, with labels such as “Dread Pirate Roberts” and “Fire Swamp”), it was a delightful take on the movie theme. But the most elegant reference to the movie was the bride. Julianna, to put it mildly, was a stunning Princess Bride.
With beautiful hair work by Fada Salon, makeup by Katherine Sealy, and a classic wedding dress, Julianna was gorgeous. But even more beautiful was her smile, her kindness, and the grace with which she glowed all day long.
Aside from the table decor, there were many other delightful touches to the day: There were games to play, such as bocci and bean-bag toss. To protect guests from the summer sun, parasols and iced lemonade were provided. And at the reception, aside from food and drink, the bride and groom asked us to bring along our PhotoBooth. These thoughtful touches made it an extra special day.
But I mustn’t forget the special guest of the day, Norm. Norm would not have seemed amiss had he shown up in the Princess Bride movie, but, alas, he did not. But he was invited to the wedding, and even received a kiss from the bride. Norm’s a special little guy, colorful and…well, what can I say? He’s a garden gnome. (Perhaps his name is spelled Gnorm, but I’m not certain about that.)
