Danielle and Joe had an absolutely stunning and amazingly fun wedding at Abernethy Center, in Oregon City, so we asked this happy couple to tell us a few details about their wedding and this is what they said:

Can you share a memorable story about an important person at the wedding?

Bride: My mom did everything she could to make sure, after 9 years together, that our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. She even thought of ways to make sure that my husband’s parents, who passed away in 2015, had seats at the ceremony and a place at the reception. My parents even hosted the rehearsal dinner at their house and invited all my husband’s parent’s siblings to make sure my husband had people that he loves around him on that day.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding?

Groom: The First Reveal was my favorite, finally saw my wife in the dress she’d chosen. Absolutely beautiful!

Bride: I have a few favorite moments: listening to music while getting ready with my bridesmaids and my mom, seeing my husband for the first time in his tux, our first dance, the amazing food, sitting in our hotel room after the wedding and eating left over appetizers and talking about how amazing the day was.

Was there something that made you cry at your wedding?

Groom: Memory photos of missing family, I couldn’t even look at it.

Bride: I have a few. The chairs with flowers and pictures on them at the ceremony to represent my husband’s parents and my grandpa who have passed away. There was also a memory table at the reception for them.

My maid of honor, who is my sister, made me cry during her speech.

I cried during the father/daughter dance with my dad.

Also, when my husband’s godmother took his mom’s place for the mother/son dance.

Was there something that made you laugh?

Groom: Best man speech had both nervous laughter and relieved laughter.

Bride: When one of my best friends and my brother had a dance off that ended with my brother doing the worm.

What were your favorite wedding decoration details?

Groom: The lighting once it got dark was fantastic due to the Edison Bulbs. Lights up in memory.

Bride: The Edison Bulbs were amazing. The chandeliers on the gazebo and the tent were beautiful. The centerpieces were exactly what I wanted, they looked beautiful on the soft blue table cloths.

Is there anything else that you’d like to share?

Groom: Fantastic facility, great view. Set up taken care of. Made our day about us, instead of about everything that needed to be done.

Bride: We had such an amazing time at our wedding and it turned out exactly how we wanted it to. We got to focus on enjoying each other because the Abernethy’s staff had everything planned and organized so well. The event space was so beautiful, and the flowers fit in perfectly with the space. Our DJ played a great mix of songs from the present and the past; everyone was on the dance floor. We are so grateful to everyone that came, including our friends and family that flew in from New Mexico, New York and Scotland. We felt very loved that they made the trip to celebrate with us.
